Meet Stuart

Meet Stuart.  Stuart Guerreiro is our Field Operations Manager and has been with us for 8 years.  Stuart started his career working for a private healthcare firm, before spending 4 months travelling across Mexico, the USA and Portugal.  His father was Portuguese, and working in Oman, and his mother is half German, so travel and exploring the world has always been a keen interest.  On returning to the UK he went to work in the hospitality industry, firstly at a hotel in Newbury and then, over several years, at various hotels around the South East.  He took on several roles, from Events Manager to Meetings Manager, then moving into food and drink and becoming a Restaurant Manager at a two Rosette Hotel Restaurant in Reading.  He has always been in front of house, customer facing roles, and his attention to detail and ability to provide top notch customer service is an asset that he clearly applies to his role at ServiceMaster by Deeland today.

Working in the restaurant industry made him appreciate food and wine at a whole new level and got him into fine dining.  He became very good friends with the Head Chef and Food & Beverage Manager who definitely helped further his education in this area and spark his love of cooking.  This was further fuelled by meeting Marco Pierre White at his restaurant The Yew Tree, who was kind enough to send his table complimentary champagne on finding out he was a Restaurant Manager!

Sport has always been Stuart’s other passion.  His dad was a professional footballer in Portugal and so he has always been into sports and fitness.  At school he broke the 100m record and got into Swindon Town’s Youth Football Academy.  He played for Berkshire Football and ran for the county too.  He is a lifelong Arsenal and Formula One fan. His love of sport prompted his next career move, becoming a Leisure Club Manager and a qualified personal trainer, but eventually he missed the hotel industry, returning as General Manager at a hotel in Newbury, prior to another spell travelling extensively by car across France, Spain and Portugal. 

On his return he was taken on by ServiceMaster by Deeland, where he has now been our Operations Manager for 8 years.  We are fortunate to have someone with such exacting standards as learned in the hospitality industry looking after our clients for us.
